Saskatchewan Timex Road Race Series
The Look Matters Gopher Marathon is now a part of the Timex National Road Race Series. It is the only full marathon distance event in the Series.
The Look Matters Gopher Attack Marathon 2012
The Western Canada International Marathon
On its fifth anniversary, The Look Matters Gopher Attack Marathon had proudly assumed the status of the Western Canada International Marathon.
The Gopher Marathon and Half Marathon events offer an inexpensive, comfortable, no pressure opportunity to test the fruits of the long months of winter training. The traditional Good Friday date makes for a great start of the long spring weekend which can then be spent in the well deserved rest and leisure as you prepare for the remainder of the racing season.
Building on the success of the 2011 event with 250 registered runners from Canada and US, and $2,200 raised for the MS Society, the Gopher Attack continues to grow in the number of participants and the quality of service.
In order to preserve the intimacy of the event and the excellent service to the participants, the entry is capped at 275 participants.
The $40 cost of entry makes the Gopher Attack Marathon the best value among the Canadian marathons.
Last April, mild temperature and light south-easterly breeze, combined with the flat, fast course, produced three new course records, for male marathon, and female and male half marathon.
Amazingly, 16 marathon finishers ran their Boston qualification times.
What We Offer
Our low participation fee includes Saskatchewan Sport insurance, aid stations, finisher's medal, and prizes for top three male and female marathon and half-marathon finishers. Age group winners will also be recognized and awarded prizes.
Post race refreshments and the award ceremony are included in the registration fee.
Royal Road Race
The Jaleta Pacers partner with the RCMP each year to hold the Royal Road Race on Mother’s Day weekend in May. The Royal Road Race is a family event that promotes wellness and the sport of running. The race is designed for everyone from walkers to competitive runners. The race distances are 10 km Timex series, 5 km and 1km Mini Mountie Run. The course is fast and flat with a 5 km loop run twice for the 10 km distance. The proceeds raised from this race go toward local charities.
